Meadow Pipit
Meadow Pipit
Anthus pratensis
Riabhóg mhóna

The Meadow Pipit is a common and widespread ground bird, somewhat like the Skylark, with brownish, heavily streaked plumage and white outer tail feathers. It is, however, a more delicate bird, with thinner bill, and lacks the crest on the head. Meadow Pipits call with a distinctive squeak, a very familiar open-country call.
