Pied Wagtail
Pied Wagtail
Motacilla alba
Glasóg shraide
The Pied Wagtail is a widespread species as much at home in the country as it is in the town. It is distinctively patterned with a noticeably long black-and-white tail which is constantly wagged up and down. The female is greyish on the back and the juvenile is dull and less clearly marked. The call is a clear “chissick”.
