Fiach and Fiachra (m)
Are other names derived from an Irish word for 'raven'. St Fiacre of Mieux (d. 670) may originally have been called Fiachra, before he left Ireland for France. His name was eventually used to refer to a type of Parisian coach. In the sixteenth century Fiach MacHugh O'Beirne joined forces against the English with Red Hugh O'Donnell in his escape from Dublin Castle.
